The Information of Cyberspace

The convergence of the cathedral and cyberspace has been suggested by architect Michael Benedikt in a brief footnote appended to his essay "Cyberspace Some Proposals."
I think the case can convincingly be made that religion in the form of a church/temple was historically the first information business, and that the coordinated space of gods...and the world of sacred texts, images, and accounts... constitute the forerunners of cyberspace. (Cyberspace: First Steps, Michael Benedikt, ed. Cambridge: MIT Press, 1991. p. 210, n.7)
If Benedikt hints at a convergence of the architecturally archaic and contemporary, Appliance House provides the definitive demonstration through construction.
